By Autistics For Autistics: Authentically Autistic

We offer bespoke By Autistics For Autistics workshops designed in collaboration with Autistic-led groups, delivered by our Autistic Advisors and other Autistic leaders.

Each workshop is tailored to your requirements and may include explorations of Autistic identity and developing Autistic leadership and advocacy.

These workshops focus on connections, sharing knowledge and fun.

Kids Do Well If They Can

This free workshop is for parents, whānau, educators, and anyone seeking to support Autistic children and youth to do well.

Drawing from the work of Dr Ross Greene, this workshop offers a positive lens to understand behaviour as well as practical tips to support behaviour that non-autistics may find challenging.

Brain, Body and Behaviour Workshop

This free workshop is for parents, family / whānau, educators and anyone seeking a deeper understanding of Autistic and neurodivergent children and what they need from us.

Gain insights into the biology beneath behaviour with a compassionate approach that supports understanding of emotions and the development of self-regulation skills in children.

Multi-Sensory Environment Training

Our Multi-Sensory Environment (MSE) room and garden have been specially designed to help people with disabilities enjoy a wide range of experiences for therapy, learning, relaxation, and fun.

Family members, caregivers, and support workers wanting to support people to use the MSE room and garden must first complete a Your Way | Kia Roha MSE basic training course before they can use the facility.

Learn the reason for why we would use social stories as a communication tool and the process of creating tailored social stories.  Look at how to introduce and use social stories to give the best chance of effectiveness. Workshops can include support to create a specific social story and follow up through this process.
